Pellet Grill Cleaning & Firepot Service

Pellet grills are the most sensitive rig in the backyard. A clogged firepot means uneven pellet burn, temperature swings, and clouds of white smoke instead of the clean blue smoke you want. We service Traeger, Pit Boss, Camp Chef, RecTeq, Green Mountain, and Yoder pellet grills — full teardown, firepot vacuum, auger inspection, and grease trough scrub. Comes back cooking like the day you unboxed it.

Common reasons customers request this service

Heavy weekly grilling

Pellet Grill Cleaning is ideal when your grill is used several times a week and grease is building faster than a quick scrape can handle.

Before a party or cookout

A professional deep clean gives you cleaner flavor, steadier heat, and a grill you are comfortable showing guests.

After months of storage

Florida humidity, pollen, insects, and old drippings can sit inside the grill even when the cover looks clean from the outside.

When performance drops

Long preheat times, flare-ups, bad smells, or uneven heat usually mean the firebox, burners, or grease system need attention.

Our process

  1. 1

    Full teardown

Grates, heat baffle, grease tray, and firepot all come out. We pull the pellets from the hopper and inspect the auger for jams or moisture damage.

  2. 2

    Firepot deep clean

The firepot gets vacuumed, scraped, and steam-cleaned. This is the single biggest thing that fixes bad pellet grill performance.

  3. 3

    Grease system service

Grease trough is steamed, liner replaced, and the drain hose cleared so grease flows out cleanly instead of pooling and catching fire.

  4. 4

    Sensor & reassembly

RTD probe is cleaned so it reads temperature accurately. Everything is reassembled, filled with your pellets, and test-fired.

Why it matters

  • Consistent temperature with no wild swings
  • Clean blue smoke instead of white acrid smoke
  • Prevents grease fires in the drip trough — a common Traeger warranty voider
  • Extends the life of the auger motor and controller
  • Better bark on brisket, cleaner smoke ring on ribs

Frequently asked questions

My Traeger is throwing an error code — can you fix it?

Often, yes. Most temperature and low-temp error codes are caused by RTD probe grease coating or firepot clogs — both of which we clean as part of every service.

Do you replace parts?

We can replace grease trays, liners, and RTD probes on site. Augers, controllers, and igniters can be quoted as part of our restoration service.

How often does a pellet grill need to be cleaned?

Vacuum the firepot every 3–5 cooks yourself; get a full professional service every 6–12 months depending on how much you cook.

Will my old pellets be a problem?

If they've been in the hopper more than 60 days in humid Florida weather, we recommend replacing them. Wet pellets cause auger jams.
