Flat Top & Griddle Cleaning
Blackstones, Camp Chef flat tops, and outdoor griddles look ruined faster than any other grill — that black, sticky layer builds up in a single summer of smash burgers. We strip flat top griddles down to bare steel, remove the carbonized cooking oil buildup, address any surface rust, and put a professional re-season back on the top so it cooks smooth and non-stick again.
What's included
- Cooking surface (stripped and re-seasoned)
- Rear grease chute and can
- Burner assembly underneath
- Ignition system
- Side shelves and hood (if equipped)
- Legs, wheels, and cart
- Cabinet interior (on Blackstone Pro units)
Common reasons customers request this service
Heavy weekly grilling
Flat Top & Griddle Cleaning is ideal when your grill is used several times a week and grease is building faster than a quick scrape can handle.
Before a party or cookout
A professional deep clean gives you cleaner flavor, steadier heat, and a grill you are comfortable showing guests.
After months of storage
Florida humidity, pollen, insects, and old drippings can sit inside the grill even when the cover looks clean from the outside.
When performance drops
Long preheat times, flare-ups, bad smells, or uneven heat usually mean the firebox, burners, or grease system need attention.
Our process
- 1
Full strip
The carbonized layer on top of the steel comes off using controlled heat and food-safe pumice. No aggressive chemicals near your cooking surface.
- 2
Rust addressed
Any surface rust from Florida humidity gets sanded and treated before re-seasoning.
- 3
Underside & burner service
We flip the top or access from below to clean the burner tubes and ignition assembly.
- 4
Professional re-season
The griddle gets 3–4 layers of high-smoke-point oil polymerized onto the surface, restoring the black, non-stick finish.
Why it matters
- Smooth, non-stick cook surface again
- No more scraping burnt oil off before every cook
- Prevents rust-through that ruins the whole top
- Even heat across the entire surface

Frequently asked questions
Is my griddle too rusty to save?
Surface rust almost always cleans off. Deep pitting or rust-through is rarer — we'll tell you honestly if a top is beyond restoration before starting.
How long will the new seasoning last?
With proper aftercare (a light oil wipe after every cook), the professional re-season holds for 6–12 months of regular use.
Do you do commercial flat tops?
We focus on residential outdoor griddles. Commercial kitchen equipment is a different license category.
